Vientiane
Vientiane, besides being the capital, is the biggest and most important city of Laos, from a political, cultural, economic and administrative perspective. The city also boasts of a sizeable population. The famous Golden Stupa which has been accorded the National Symbol status of Laos is found in this city. The city of Vientiane comprises of five districts. Sandalwood trees are found in abundance throughout this city.
The infrastructure of this city is seemingly inadequate. Vientiane has been bestowed with the honor of hosting the Asian Games for the Southeastern region in the year 2009. Vientiane has a state-of-the-art International Airport catering to passengers.
